You would never figure out Mr. or Mrs. So-and-So was lying when they said the world was 1 million years old. But it isn't true. From the Bible, we can figure that the world is only thousands of years old. Not millions.
Something about that bugs me. That I have to sift through what I hear to make sure I am getting good information. Lies are so common now days in school - about the big bang and evolution. Last year I purposefully flunked a test because I didn't believe in what it was asking (okay, I admit, there was only one question like that. I'm just bad at science!). Today, I was reading in my science book during class and following along with the teacher. It was saying how they though elements are made from stardust and stuff. Then towards the end I read something about the world being millions of years old. The norm. I've learned to ignore that by now. But the worst part was right after it said that, it said something about how the whole world was created like that when particles smashed together (big bang). I had just gone through the whole lesson, not even noticing what I had been hearing was a total lie until the last sentence.
That's what happens. Some lies are very discreet. Some are so obvious it's not even funny. When textbooks say "The world was created by the big bang." and that's it.
Thanks to the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio, I have learned many reasons why the things they teach in school aren't true. They can prove from the Bible things like God creating the world. This happened awhile ago, but they discovered the Wall of Jericho. God said that the Bible would be proven true and look what happened?
I am pretty sure that it was my parents who told me about the machines used to test how old things were. Turns out they don't really work. There was some canyon thing or something like that that had been formed somewhat recently so it was only there for about 5 years or something. Some people decided to test it for its age, and the machines said it was millions of years old. Which, everyone knows isn't true because it was created only a few years prior to that.
Going back to my main point - what you learn in school isn't always true. If teachers can tell us to believe man-written text books, shouldn't we stop right there and instead believe The Book written by God? Because it does say, Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.

Hi Abby!
ReplyDeleteYou have learned a lesson that many people never learn in this life - you can't believe everything you hear. However, you can always believe God. Keep using the Bible as your standard - it is the only true source of wisdom.
Love you. Mom
Abby,
ReplyDeleteI agree, what we read in textbooks at school can't always be reliable. We should stick to the Bible, where we know what we read is true.
I love your blog, and that pic. of Pibby is cute!

Hi Abby,
ReplyDeleteYou and your mom are such great writers. I enjoy reading your blog. Just pray for those folks who don't know or understand the Bible has all the answers. They need our love - so that maybe some day they'll see the truth!!!
Love,
Gramme
